Do I need hiking experience?

No previous hiking experience is required for the most common routes. I guide at a comfortable pace and adjust the hike based on the group’s fitness level. A basic level of fitness and a sense of adventure are all you need.

Is the hike safe?

Yes. As an experienced guide, I carefully select safe routes and monitor weather conditions. Your safety is my top priority, and I carry basic safety equipment and first aid.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Weather on Table Mountain can change quickly. If conditions are unsafe due to strong winds or rain, we may reschedule or cancel for safety.

Will we take the cable-car down?

This depends on the hike and/or weather conditions. Some hikes end at the top where we can take the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway down, while others are full return hikes.

It's to be noted that the cable-way tickets are not included in the guiding fee and cost R295.00 per ticket.

What is the group size?

To keep the experience personal and safe, hikes are usually small groups. Private hikes are also available.

How difficult is the hike?

Table Mountain offers routes of varying difficulty. Most hikes are moderate, with some steeper sections. Before the hike, I’ll recommend the best route based on your fitness, experience, and forecasted weather conditions.

What should I bring?

• Active wear and comfortable hiking shoes

• Water (at least 1.5 litres per person)

• Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses)

• Light jacket or windbreaker

• Your favourite nom nom snacks

I’ll provide additional information before the hike.

Are photos included in the experience?

If you book the adventure photography hike, I’ll capture natural photos during the journey at some of the most scenic viewpoints on the mountain.

Can beginners or families join?

For sure. Many routes are suitable for beginners and families with older children. I’ll recommend the most appropriate trail for your group.

Where do we meet?

The meeting point depends on the route chosen. I’ll send the exact meeting location and directions the afternoon prior to the hike.
